Aer Lingus confirm extra Belfast - Heathrow flight

Aer Lingus is still on course to grow its connections at Belfast International Airport, the carrier's commercial director confirmed yesterday. Enda Corneille gave the reassurance after the Irish airline reported a loss for 2009 of €66.2m (£60m) and said that it will make hundreds of employees redundant.

Mr Corneille confirmed that Aer Lingus, which operates services to a variety of European locations from Belfast International, will launch a further service from the airport to Heathrow at the end of the month as soon as it launches its summer season schedule. This will take the airline’s number of daily flights between both cities to 4 each way.
