Australian company Macquarie Airports (MAp) announced that earnings have increased at Bristol Airport. The airport, which is 32.1% owned by MAp, posted a 20.1% jump in EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) to £5.8 million (from £4.8 million a year earlier), driven by strong passenger growth and increase revenue from airport car parking.
A MAp statement said that car parking activities were boosted by the introduction of both the ‘meet and greet’ parking and fully flexible pre-book and online products. We are not surprised on the car parking front, given the relatively high prices driven by a relentless campaign to block cheaper off airport car parking options.
