bmi is using larger aircraft on its route between East Midlands Airport and Brussels. In order to meet growing demand, the route is now being operated using an Embraer 145 aircraft. This offers 30% more seats than the Embraer 135 that was previously used on the air link.
The extra capacity came into force when the summer 2008 timetable was launched last week. In addition, in July and August, the airline will fly 3 times a day on the route, adding more than 2000 seats over the 2 month period.
The flights are timed to connect with bmi's Star Alliance partners at Brussels Airport, including flights to Scandinavia with SAS, to Germany with Lufthansa and to Austria with Austrian Airlines.
