Passengers who arrived at East Midlands Airport on Ryanair flight from Italy were detained for 3 hours today over a health scare. About 150 passengers on the flight from Pisa, which landed just after 18:00, were held in an airport building after it emerged a boy on board had chicken pox.
The passengers were interviewed by a team from Leicestershire Health Authority before being allowed to go through immigration and customs. An outbound flight from the airport using the aircraft was cancelled as the plane was being inspected by the health authority.
