Emergency services rushed to Edinburgh Airport yesterday after a aircraft experienced ‘a problem' on its approach into the hub, the Evening News reports. Eight fire engines, three paramedic cars and two ambulances attended the airport, however were not needed after the aircraft landed safely.
A spokesperson for the fire service told the newspaper: ‘A aircraft coming in to Edinburgh Airport at just after 09:00 reported that it had an unstable nose wheel. We were asked to stand by but after it landed safely, the incident was downgraded.’
A spokeswoman for the airport, added: ‘Emergency services were on standby after a plane indicated a problem on approach into Edinburgh, as normal procedure. The plane landed safely and the incident was downgraded.’
