7 hour delay after Norwich flight diverted to Gatwick

A Norwich Airport bound flight from Turkey was diverted to Gatwick on Friday, making passengers more than 7 hours late home, the Evening News reports. The Thomas Cook flight from Dalaman was diverted on Friday evening after the crew were alerted to an ‘indication of a technical fault’.
Passengers waited for more than hour onboard the Boeing 757 at Gatwick while engineers inspected the plane, with the hope of continuing on to Norwich. However, they eventually disembarked and, after spending a £10 meal voucher, were taken by coach back to Norwich, arriving home over 7 hours behind schedule.
A spokesman at Thomas Cook Airlines said: ‘We'd like to apologise to our passengers for the inconvenience caused on our Dalaman to Norwich flight on June 26. The aircraft was routed to Gatwick and landed safely. To ensure our passengers could return home as soon as possible, they were then coached back to Norwich.’
