Busy weekend for cocaine smugglers at Gatwick Airport

Four people were arrested in separate incidents at Gatwick over the weekend, after they were caught trying to carry a total of £280,000 worth of cocaine in to the UK. Three women and a man were stopped at the airport, with 7 kilos of the class A drug between them. One of the women had even tried to smuggle over a kilo hidden under her wig!
The smuggling attempts were stopped by officers from the UK Borders Agency on Saturday and Sunday, when the 4 people arrived at the airport on separate flights. Alisha Youngblood, 27, of London, was stopped on Saturday as she arrived on a flight from Jamaica. Officers found 1 kilo of cocaine with an estimated street value of £40,000 in her bags.
Mack Andrew Hamilton Graham, 28, of St Lucia arrived on a flight from Barbados on the same day carrying 2 kilos of the drug in his bags. Chermisa Lisa Daniel, 32, from St Lucia, was arrested after officers found 1 kilo of cocaine hidden under her wig after she arrived on a flight from St Lucia, via Antigua on Sunday. Finally, Nigerian-born Bisi Bukola Fashina, 50, was caught carrying 3 kilos of cocaine in her bags also on Sunday.
All 4 were immediately arrested and have appeared in front of Crawley Magistrates' Court. They were remanded in custody and have further court dates scheduled for later this month.
