A ‘technical fault’ on a Flybe plane flying from Gatwick caused a full-scale alert at Inverness Airport yesterday, the Press & Journal reports. Fire engines, ambulances and emergency crews from Inverness raced to the airport before the aircraft, with 121 passengers and crew on board, touched down safely.
The alarm was raised at 11:20, 15 minutes before the plane was to land. A Flybe spokeswoman told the newspaper: ‘Flybe can confirm that flight BE7321 from Gatwick to Inverness landed safely at 11:35 following a technical fault. As is standard procedure at Inverness Airport, the flight was met by emergency vehicles. Passengers disembarked as normal.'
