09.02.10
Monarch Airlines is searching for a new boss after its chief executive, Peter Brown, announced he is to step down after 8 years, Travelmole reports. The airline's chairman, Iain Rawlinson, will take executive responsibility for the group on an interim basis, supported by the airline's 5 strong senior management team.
Mr Rawlinson, said: ‘Peter has been instrumental in guiding Monarch through an important period in its long history. The airline now has balanced exposure to both chartered and scheduled airline operations, a strong brand, and a supportive shareholder. It is emerging from the very challenging period with a sound business model that offers scope for growth in the years ahead.’
Mr Brown said: ‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Monarch, having spent 8 years helping transform the business. I am confident Monarch has a bright future and look forward to following the company’s progress in the years ahead. Having originally approached the board last year about stepping down, the time is right to move on and I am looking forward to a new challenge’.
