BAA to 'debrand' Gatwick
27.05.09
BAA is talking to branding agencies about a 'debrand' of Gatwick Airport ahead of its sale, Marketing reports. It is consulting about removing the BAA identity from the airport's on-site branding, and creating a suitable replacement.
The project is being led by BAA's marketing director, Nick Adderley, who is also working on an imminent launch of a new consumer brand for Heathrow. He is also reported to be carrying out a major review of BAA's roster of marketing agencies. Until recently, the UK airport operator worked with up to 100 advertising and branding agencies; but it plans to cut this to fewer than 20.
