eFly wants to operate Gatwick - Malta flights

eFly, the charter airline to be based in Malta, has applied for permission to operate a daily Malta - Gatwick and Malta - Catania - Gatwick flight. Luigi Crispino, one of the owners of the new airline, told the Times of Malta the request follows BA's announcement last week that it is going to stop its operations on the routes this winter.

eFly is willing to run at least one flight daily between Malta and Gatwick, Mr Crispino said. Air Malta has already announced that it will add extra flights on its Gatwick route from November.
