Virgin add extra Glasgow - Orlando flights next summer
03.03.10
Virgin Atlantic will double its flights between Glasgow and Orlando for the summer of 2011. The extra flights will mean the airline will offer 26,000 more seats to the Florida compared to last year, increasing its total seats to 45,000.
Overall the airline carried over 850,000 passengers to Orlando in 2009 from the UK. Steve Ridgway, CEO at Virgin Atlantic, said: 'This announcement underlines our pledge to fly to long-haul destinations from UK regional airports. These Glasgow Airport flights are a welcome addition to our current services.'
The services fill part of the gap left by the failure of Scottish airline Flyglobespan in December and will operate directly each Saturday and Sunday between April 2 and October 30.
