Twice as many employees commute to Heathrow by plane as by bike

If you work at Heathrow there is around more chance that you fly in to work than cycle, the Telegraph reports. The airport's ‘Changing Direction’ travel plan reveals 1713 of its 72,000 staff fly to work, more than double the number who cycle.

The airport has said it is ‘committed to climate change’ [reducing its effect on climate change?] but the newspaper reports that 2.38% of Heathrow's workforce flew to work in 2004, and its 'tough target' for 2012 is - still 2.38%.
