Passengers were ordered off a plane due to fly to Heathrow Airport moments before it was to take off after a large rat was spotted on board. The Air Canada Boeing 767 flying from Ottawa was waiting to taxi when a passenger spotted the rodent in an overhead locker.
The captain of flight AC888 ordered its 205 passengers off the plane so that a pest control team could find and catch the rat. But despite an intensive 30 minute search, the rodent could not be found. The flight was cancelled and passengers spent the night at an airport hotel before flying in yesterday.
