A BBC documentary called 'The Secret Life of the Airport', which charts the history of Liverpool Airport, will be on TV tomorrow. Production manager Maximillian Brunold said: ‘Britain’s airports have housed both dreams and fears since the first opened nearly a century ago.'
‘This episode tells the story behind airports, why they are where they are and how they have evolved from muddy fields in to 24-hour cities. Using rare archive and access to the airports hidden corners, it reveals the intense local rivalry, skulduggery and sheer passion for flight behind our airports – particularly the rivalry for pre-eminence between Liverpool and Manchester.’
The Secret Life of the Airport is on BBC4 tomorrow at 21:00.
