The chief executive of London City Airport has pledged to cut delays after its punctuality figures were found to be even worse than Heathrow's. The latest figures (for January - March) show only 58% of flights took off from London City on time compared to a worst-ever figure of 60% at Heathrow.
Richard Gooding said: ‘We recognise we have had bottlenecks and we will improve punctuality.' He said that the airport has unveiled 4 new aircraft stands, taking its total up to 14, and allowing it to handle 3.5m passengers this year.
