Prestwick Airport suffered a sharp fall in passengers last month, according to the latest statistics released by airport owner Infratil. It handled 160,419 passengers in April, down 19% on the same month last year.
This is slightly better than in March, when passengers were down 22%. The loss of charter flights operator Sergio Holidays is the main reason for the falls, with some decreased frequencies from Ryanair and cargo also down at the airport.
