Passengers at Robin Hood Airport have dropped to the lowest level since it opened in 2005. Just 36,772 passengers passed though the airport in January, 1000 fewer than in December and 15,000 - or around 29% - fewer than the same month last year.
It is the third month running that passengers have dropped below the 40,000 mark. However, airport bosses are reported to be relaxed about the slump and confident figures will increase by 40% this year after easyJet announced it would launch flights 5 European destinations and Aer Lingus' announced flights to Dublin - with onward connections to New York and Boston.
