AirAsia have said that it will operate extra connections between Stansted and Kuala Lumpur to cope with increase demand. The budget service currently runs seven frequencies per week, but in July, August, September and December 2010 and January 2011 an additional two services will be added each week. Flat bed seats will also be added in the premium section of the plane used to operate the services between London and the Malaysian capital.
Azran Osman-Rani, chief executive of AirAsia, said: ‘We have seen heaving demand on the Stansted to Kuala Lumpur service in the face of 2009 being one of the toughest years in the aviation industry. In its first year of operation, over 220,000 passengers used the service.'
